Institute of Public Administration of Nigeria
is advocating tougher punitive measures
against individuals who corruptly enriched
themselves in the country. Officials of the
Institute who expressed this view at a forum
in Abuja also called on the Federal
Government to diversify the nation’s
economy to move the country out of
recession. Public servants are often accused
of colluding with politicians to embezzle
public funds in the country.
Though the gathering of members of the
Institute of Public Administration of Nigeria
at this forum is to brainstorm on how the
country will move out of its current
recession. They all agreed that workers in
the country are having difficulties catching
up with the galloping increase of prices of
goods and services which according to them
is caused by recession.
For Nigeria to move out of the economic
quagmire, the public administrators say
government must diversify the nation’s
economy.
