Women Empowerment: FG Rolls Out Social Protection Programme

The Federal Government has released one
point six billion naira for the effective
implementation of the National women
Empowerment fund. The Minister of
Women Affairs, Aisha Al-Hassan disclosed
this at the one day sensitization programme
on the effective implementation of National
Women Empowerment Fund in the eight
pilot states held in Abuja.

The sensitization programme brought
together wives of Governors, Local
Government Chairmen, women in elective
positions as well as beneficiaries of the
scheme.

The focus of the programme is to deliberate
on the effective implementation of the
National women empowerment fund in the
eight pilot states which include: Akwa ibom,
Osun, Nasarawa, Jigawa, Adamawa, Yobe and
Borno.
