Declaration Of IPOB As Terrorist Group Is Unconstitutional – Saraki

Senate President, Bukola Saraki has
revealed that it was unconstitutional for
the Nigeria army to have tagged the
Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) a
terrorist group without following due
process.



Saraki noted that preliminary
investigation on the clash between the
Python Dance 11 and some members of
the IPOB group in Umuahia, Abia State,
who are agitating for seccession would
be carried before ascertain the next step.




In a statement on Monday, the former
Kwara Stats Governor, however, was
unhappy with the declaration of IPOB as a
terrorist group without consulting the
National Assembly.



“Our laws make clear provisions for taking
such actions and without the due process
being followed , such declaration
cannot have effect.




“I am sure the President will do the
needful by initiating the right process. ”




“We assure Nigerians that there will be no
cover up . We intend to lay the facts bare ."
