Why I Don’t Want To Be Part Of Biafra —By Efio-Ita Nyok

… I told him I don’t want to be part of
Biafra, that the arrogance that preceded
their incorporating S/S into the Biafra
map, without our consent, is the same
arrogance that will compel them to ignore
civility when I am part of their Biafra.

I reminded him of how the much
celebrated Nnamdi Azikiwe ethnically
kicked out Efik-born Professor Eyo Ita as
the Business Leader of the then Eastern
House of Assembly, when Awolowo beat
him through alleged ethnicity in the
Western House of Assembly, to replace
him…

I reminded other pockets of
arrogance of a majority of the Igbo
people.

He simply told me how he was
disappointed at me especially taking
cognizance of the fact that I was a
Blogger —I was supposed to be more
informed.

I rather demonstrated how
being a Blogger actually made me to
spurn the idea of S/S being co-opted into
Biafra or whatever they call it. Rev. Fr.
Ifeanyi Uzoigwe witnessed the argument.
Nnamdi Kanu mayn’t make a better leader.

In fact, he does not mean well: with the
influence he now wields in S/E Nigeria, he
would have used it to put the 5 eastern
Governors and state governments to task.

He would have joined a political party of
his choice or form another or influence
one of his ardent believers to. He would
have used his followers to influence
elections…— he would have join the
political process.

I didn’t study history in school but have
read a very little —I hear people more
intelligent than myself say war isn’t good.

In the Philosophy of Peace and Conflict
Studies, I understood that whatever the
justification, war is not good. Kanu should
know better!

Self rule is not the solution to good
governance in S/E Nigeria because there’s
actually no marginalization per se as it
were —the only marginalization we have
in this country is that between —THE RICH
AND THE POOR.

When it comes to looting the public vault
dry, elites in the Hausa, Yoruba and Igbo
blocs unite to perpetuate the
unprecedented wickedness. When a rich
man/woman steal more than the other
rich man/woman, the cheated remembers
he/she is Efik, Tiv, Okrika, Hausa, Muslim,
Christian,… wiping ethnic or religious
sentiments.

The proletariat should open their eyes
wide and see, deciphering for their
benefits the intrigues of the bourgeoisie!
Period!
