France Deny Sponsoring IPOB – Abily

Political Counsellor, Claude Abily of the
Embassy of France,has rejected claims by
Minister of Information and Culture, Lai
Muhammad that they one of the countries
sponsoring the Indigenous People of
Biafra (IPOB) financially.



In a statement on Thursday, Abily revealed
that the Minister hasty conclusion on
Wednesday didn’t potray a good
communication relationship with the
French government.



Besides, he was also quick to condemned
the activities of IPOB in the Southeast and
support government use of the military
force to calm the situation.



“The Embassy of France was surprised by
the statement made yesterday by the
Minister of Information and Culture
indicating that the ‘financial headquarters’
of IPOB were in France.


“We don’t have any knowledge of a
particular presence of IPOB in France and
the Nigerian
authorities never got in touch with the
Embassy on this point. We stand ready to
examine any
information which could support this
statement.”
